(Denver, CO) -- Shohei Ohtani and Matt Olson were both eliminated in the first round of the MLB Home Run derby. Ohtani took Juan Soto to two extra periods, after tying things at 22, then 28 homers. He eventually lost to the slugger 31-to-28, exiting in the first round. Olson was paired with Trey Mancini, losing 24-to-23 to the right fielder. Mancini would advance to the finals, losing to Pete Alonso.
