On the summer collegiate amateur diamond in the Westcoast League playoffs, the Corvallis Knights punched their ticket to the championship series for a league record 12th time, and will try to win their fifth straight title.

Last night at Goss Stadium-Coleman Field on the campus of Oregon State, the 7-time champion Knights blanked the Ridgefield Raptors, 9-to-nothing to claim the Southern Division playoff series, 2-games to none.

Corvallis improves to 39-and-11 overall.

Meantime, in the Northern Division series playoff, last night in Yakima, the host Pippins evened the series at one game each with its 6-3 win over the Bellingham Bells.

Yakima, 30-20, and Bellingham 25-25, will play the deciding third game of that series this evening at 7 in Yakima again with the winner meeting Corvallis for the Westcoast League Championship series set to begin on Wednesday night.

Yakima is looking to make its first ever title series appearance, while Bellingham aims for its 4th championship series. The Bells won the league crown in 2014.

In Shelby, North Carolina, the site of the American Legion Youth Baseball World Series, there are 4 teams alive entering the semifinals today including the Idaho Falls Bandits.

The Bandits won the national championship in 2019, and saw its game with Massachussetts last night postponed because of rain leading 2-to-1 in the first inning.

They will resume that game morning.

Dubuque, Iowa and Ridge, Maryland are the other two teams still in the mix for the national pennant.
