(Chicago, IL)  --  Runs were hard to come by as the Athletics were blanked by the White Sox 9-0 in Chicago.  A's starter Chris Bassitt exited the game in the second inning after getting hit in the head by a line drive.  Burch Smith relieved him and allowed five runs in three innings.  Starling Marte reached base twice with a single and a walk.  Oakland has dropped three straight and continues the series tonight.
