US Open Day Three Roundup

(Flushing, NY)  --  The US Open is officially underway as the best tennis players in the world compete in New York.  On the men's side, second-seeded Daniil Medvedev won in straight sets to advance to Round Three.  Number-3 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas was strong with a four-set win over Adrian Mannarino.  Americans Marcos Giron and Brandon Nakashima were both ousted from the tournament on Wednesday.  On the women's side, Sloane Stephens was victorious in the much-anticipated showdown with fellow American Coco Gauff.  Stephens pulled out a two-set sweep to advance to the Third Round.  Defending US Open champion Naomi Osaka advanced after her opponent, Olga Danilovic withdrew with an illness.  Simona Halep and Aryna Sabalenka each won in straight sets to move into Round Three action.
