US Open Day Eight Roundup

(Flushing, NY)  --  The US Open continues as the best tennis players in the world compete in New York.  On the men's side, top-seeded Novak Djokovic overcame a rough first set to take down American Jenson Brooksby in four sets.  Number-4 seed Alexander Zverev [[ zeh-ruhv ]] cruised to the Quarterfinals with a straight-set win over Jannik Sinner.  Number-22 seed Reilly Opelka was eliminated in a four-set loss, leaving no Americans left in the tournament. On the women's side, Shelby Rogers was upset in a straight-set loss to 18-year-old Emma Raducanu.  She was the final American women left in the field.  Number-4 seed Karolina Pliskova [[ pleesh-kow-vuh ]] and Number-11 seed Belinda Bencic each advanced to the Quarterfinals with two-set victories.
