A's Andrus Suffers Broken Leg Running The Bases

(Oakland, CA) -- Oakland A's shortstop Elvis Andrus is done for the season after breaking his leg. Andrus suffered a fractured left fibula as he rounded third base and scored the winning run Saturday over Houston. It is not clear if he will require surgery. Andrus hit .243 this season with 60 runs scored, 12 stolen bases, and 37 RBI. Second baseman Jed Lowrie was also put on the Injured List with a sprained right hand. Lowrie drove in 69 runs for the A's this season in 139 games.
