Mariners Stay In Wild Card Hunt With Win Over A's

(Seattle, WA) -- The Mariners topped the A's 4-2 in Seattle to stay half-a-game back in the AL Wild Card race. Logan Gilbert allowed one run in five-and-two-thirds innings and Diego Castillo earned the win in relief. Jarred Kelenic put the Mariners on the board with a two-run double in the sixth, Ty France hit a sacrifice fly the next inning, and Abraham Toro iced the game with a solo homer in the eighth. Oakland was eliminated from postseason contention with the loss. The Mariners are off today before starting a three-game home series against the Angels tomorrow night.
