High School Basketball

The high school basketball regular season is over and it's on to the playoffs, and 6 state tournaments kicking off this week.

Locally, there are 4 boys and 4 girls’ teams in the postseason mix as 'march madness' officially begins tomorrow.

However, sadly Saturday the Trinity Lutheran girls were knocked out of the single-a playoffs falling to Jordan valley, 60-58. The Trinity boys were ousted Friday night losing at Powder Valley, 68-63.

1A tournament begins Wednesday in Baker, while the 2A tips off in Pendleton, and the 3A tourney in Coos Bay. You can follow all the brackets online at 'osaa dot org.'

Tomorrow, the 6A boys first round playoffs see #2 ranked and unbeaten Summit host Liberty of Hillsboro. Both Bend and Mt. View hit the road with the Lava Bears playing at 8th ranked Beaverton, and the Cougars traveling to Lake Oswego.

On the girls side of the 6A playoffs, on Wednesday Mt. View visits Oregon City, and Bend plays at Jefferson in Portland.

The 5A boys and girls playoff matchups will be decided Wednesday.

And, the Madras girls will host a 4A playoff game Saturday entertaining Astoria. The Lady Outlaws of Sisters were knocked out of the postseason with its 71-23 loss Saturday at Corbett.
