High School Basketball

We tip things off with high school basketball and the state playoffs where sadly things came to a screeching halt at the big dance last night on the road for both the Mt. View and Bend girl's teams.

In the OSAA 6A first round, Lake Oswego thumped the lady Cougars, 57-35, and Jefferson smashed Bend, 54-20.

Coming up Saturday, 4th ranked Ridgeview hosts LaSalle at 3:30 p.m. in the 5A girls playoffs, and at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, Crook County greets Thurston.

Also Saturday, at 3:30 p.m. Madras plays Astoria in the class 4A playoffs.

In boy's hoops...2nd ranked Summit hosts Barlow tomorrow night at 6:30 in the 2nd round of the 6A playoffs. Also, tomorrow night, in the 5A division, Redmond welcomes Milwaukie.

And, the single-A Boy's State Tournament kicked off yesterday in Baker City with Crane, Crosshill Christian, South Wasco County, and Powder Valley notching opening wins advancing to the semifinals tomorrow.

Today, the 1A girls, and 2A and 3A boys and girls tourney all take to the maplewood.  Again, you can follow all the brackets online at ‘OSAA dot org.'
