High School Basketball

It's 'semifinal Friday' across the state of oregon with the OSAA prep state boys and girls state basketball tournaments, and the summit and Redmond boys, and Ridgeview girls are one win away from playing for state titles tomorrow.

Yesterday, the Ridgeview girls downed Corvallis, 53-43 in the quarterfinal round at Gill Coliseum on the campus of Oregon State. To advance to tonight's semis.

Ridgeview's win was fueled by Kyrah Daniel’s scoring 33 of the Lady Ravens 53 winning points, and she snared a game-high 13 rebounds, as well.

The 5A semis tonight starting at 6:30 features #4 Ridgeview meeting 9th ranked Crescent Valley who upset top-seed Willamette, 48-45.

The Crook County girls lost to rex Putnam, 74-42 and play in a loser-out consolation semifinal against #2 seed Silverton who lost to Springfield, 29-20. The top-seed also was upset in opening round 5A girls’ action as Willamette fell

On the boy's side...at the 6A tournament on the campus of the university of Portland, the Summit Storm put their perfect 26-and-0 record on the line today facing Mountainside of Tigard in a 3:15 tipoff.

In Corvallis at the 5A boy’s tournament, the Redmond Panthers tipoff at 1:30 today in a 'final-4' showdown with #4 Silverton.
