High School Basketball

The high school basketball season came to a close Saturday across the state with the OSAA state championship tournaments where the final 6 champions of the schoolyear were crowned.

Four Central Oregon teams entered the weekend with a shot at the coveted 'blue' title trophy, but all 4 came up just short of owning rings.

In Portland at the 6a boys, the Summit Storm suffered their only loss of the season in the title game falling to Tualatin, 66-49.

At the 5A tourney at OSU’s Gill coliseum, top-rated Redmond was edged by Silverton for 3rd-place, 67-66.

On the girls side...both Ridgeview and Madras girls captured 3rd-place hardware as in Corvallis at the 5A tournament, the Lady Ravens of Ridgeview beat Putnam, 58-43, and in Coos Bay, Madras defeated Hidden Valley of Grants Pass, 48-41 to claim third-place in the 4A Division.

The boys’ champions are Tualatin, Wilsonville, and Cascade. The girls title winners are Beaverton, Crescent Valley, and Philomath.
