“Mr. Rip City” … the voice of the Portland Trail Blazers for 30 years … Bill Shchonely will retire as the team’s Founding Broadcaster and Ambassador after Sunday’s game. He called nearly 3-thousand games … and was inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 2002. The Oregon Historical Society invites fans to express their appreciation for Schonely, which will then be shared with the broadcast legend.
