(WESTCOAST LEAGUE) THE BEND ELKS KICKED OFF ITS WESTCOAST LEAGUE SEASON FRIDAY NIGHT AT VINCE GENNA STADIUM, AND THE OPENING GAME WAS HALTED IN THE 7TH-INNING BECAUSE OF A STADIUM LIGHT ISSUE, BUT THE ELKS EARNED THE WIN SATURDAY, AND ADDED ANOTHER 'W' WITH THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED NIGHT GAME. THE ELKS COMPLETED THE SERIES SWEEP OF WENATCHEE LAST NIGHT BEATING THE APPLESOX, 5-4, IN 11-INNINGS. BEND PLAYS A 3-GAME SET IN SPRINGFIELD AGAINST THE NEW EXPANSION TEAM, THE DRIFTERS, BEGINNING TOMORROW NIGHT. THE ELKS NEXT HOME SERIES IS FRIDAY WHEN THEY ENTERTAIN YAKIMA.
