THE OKLAHOMA SOONERS SMASHED A RECORD 6-HOME RUNS IN GAME-1 OF THE TITLE SERIES ENROUTE TO A 16-TO-1 THRASHING OF TEXAS IN JUST 6-INNINGS, AS THE GAME ENDED EARLY VIA THE 'MERCY RULE.'

OKLAHOMA SCORED IN EVERY INNING AND FINISHED WITH 16-RUNS ON 16-HITS. TEXAS OPENED WITH A 1-TO-NOTHING LEAD, BUT WAS BLANKED THE REST OF THE WAY.

OKLAHOMA CAN CLAIM THE CHAMPIONSHIP TODAY, SOONER, NO PUN INTENDED, THAN LATER, AS FIRST PITCH FOR GAME-2 OF THE SERIES IS AT 430PM TELEVISED ON ESPN-2.

OKLAHOMA IS SHOOTING FOR ITS 6TH NATIONAL TROPHY WHILE TEXAS IS IN ITS FIRST-EVER TITLE SERIES.
