The Bend Elks returned home last night, following a week long road trip in Washington, only to go extra innings entertaining the Bellingham Bells.
The Bells came into town leading the north division of the Westcoast League by 3-1/2 games over Kamloops, and the Elks entered the night just 1-game behind idle Corvallis for the south lead.
Bend had a 6-2 lead until the 8th inning when Bellingham plated 4-runs to tie the game. Both teams went scoreless in the 9th.
But, in the top of the 10th, Elijah Hainline belted a 1-out solo home run to give Bellingham a 7-6 lead.
First pitch this evening in the 2nd game at 6:35, and its '2 Dollar Tuesday' with $2-dollar general admission, and hot dogs and beverages.
Bend Trails Corvallis by one and a half games for the division lead. The Knights begin a series with Springfield tonight in Lane County.
