Former Beaver Baseball great Adley Rutschman made his return to the northwest last night in Seattle as the starting catcher of the Baltimore Orioles.

Rutschman was the number one draft pick in 2019 in the MLB draft after earning All American Honors, and leading the Oregon state to the 2018 NCAA world series title.

The Sherwood High-School graduate signed for $8-million, and three years later he is in  the starting lineup for the Orioles.

Rutschman wasted no time celebrating his homecoming of sorts last night, belting his third home run of the year over the right feild fence with two-out, and nobody on base in the third inning giving the O's a 3 to nothing lead over the Mariners.

He started the night with an RBI single in the opening frame.

Ironically. Rutschman was drafted in the 40th round by Seattle after his senior season at Sherwood High-School.

The Orioles went on to beat the M's, 9-2 of the series is tonight at 7:10.
