The new rival professional and rather controversial, and rather wealthy golf tour teed off yesterday in Portland at Pumkin Ridge Golf Course outside of Hillsboro.

'Liv Golf Portland' with a record purse of 25-million dollars enters the second day of competition of the 54-hole tournament.

Today's shot-gun second-round start begins at 1pm, and is not televised by NBC in the United States, but can be followed online by streaming it, or viewed on Facebook and You-Tube.

Unlike the PGA, Liv Golf has a 12-four man teams with the overall winner pocketing 4-million dollars, and each member of the winning team collecting 750-thousand.

Among the big names in Portland anre Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Brooks

(kepp-kuh) Koepka, Bryson (day-sham-boe) Dechambeau, and Lee Westwood.

Carlos Ortiz is the early leader at 5-under par 67. Dustin Johnson is one shot back. Mickelson 3-over.

The final round is tomorrow, beginning at 1pm.

Liv Golf was greeted yesterday by protestors, angry at the Saudi goverment  and the financial backers of the tour for it's involvment in the '9-11' attack.
