Yesterday was the MLB first-year player draft and Oregon State ace Cooper Hjerpe was drafted 22nd overall to the St. Louis Cardinals. Also for the Beavs, Pac 12 player of the year Jacob Melton was selected 64th to the Astros and Justin Boyd was picked 73rd to the Reds.

For the Ducks, infielder Josh Kasevich was selected 60th to the Blue Jays.
