Major League Baseball Brief July 25th

In the big leagues, the Seattle Mariners were swept by the Astros this weekend and picked up an 8-5 loss last night. The M’s still hold the third wild card spot in the American League and host the Rangers tonight at 7:30. The Mariners are also getting some good news on the status of their rookie All-Star.  Seattle manager Scott Servais said Sunday that Julio Rodriguez is considered day-to-day and might avoid a stint on the injured list.  The outfielder had undergone an MRI for his left wrist injury and it showed no structural damage

The Oakland A’s lost last night to those Texas Rangers 11-8. The Athletics turn around and welcome Houston tonight at 6:30.

Finally, the San Francisco Giants were dealt three losses by the Dodgers over the weekend, falling 7-4 yesterday. The Giants are in Arizona tonight to challenge the Diamondbacks at 6:40.
