Seahawks Training Camp: Sign Metcalf, Jamal Adams Hurt

DK Metcalf will be sticking in Seattle for the foreseeable future.  According to ESPN, the wide receiver and the Seahawks have agreed to a three-year, 72-million dollar extension.  The deal includes 58.2-million dollars guaranteed, and a 30-million dollar signing bonus, which is the highest ever for a receiver.  Metcalf had reported to training camp on Tuesday but did not participate in the team's first practice.  The 64th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft has caught 216 passes for 3,170 yards and 29 touchdowns over his first three seasons.

The Seahawks are missing a member of their defense in training camp.  Seattle head coach Pete Carroll said Thursday that safety Jamal Adams will be out as he seeks other opinions on a left-hand issue.  Adams underwent surgery this offseason to fuse two fingers on his hand after multiple dislocations but seems to be dealing with ongoing issues.  Carroll didn't give a timetable for Adams return.  The 26-year-old has dealt with injuries over the past two seasons and was limited to 12 games in both 2020 and 2021.
