West Coast League Announces Partnership with MLB

The West Coast League and Major League Baseball have announced a partnership. A release that was published yesterday stated the organizations “announced an agreement to jointly pursue initiatives of mutual interest, including player and coach development, technology innovation related to scouting and fan experience.” Last season there were over 300 former West Coast League athletes affiliated with professional baseball with 60 in the big leagues. Currently, the MLB has four other partner leagues that are not affiliated with minor league baseball.

Also, the Bend Elks are preparing to host Division 1 baseball teams to kick off next month. On October 1st, the Oregon State Beavers will play the Gonzaga Bulldogs in an exhibition game but before that, there is a youth baseball camp hosted by the Beavers at Vince Genna stadium.
