College Baseball:
Number 7 Oregon State took the series against Washington State 10 to 6 yesterday. Travis Bazanna clubbed three home runs to give him 24 on the season to become OSU’s all-time home run leader. The Beavers leave Pullman to go to Spokane to take on Gonzaga today starting at Noon.
Number 21 Oregon’s rally fell short against Utah yesterday. The 9 to 7 loss prevented the Ducks from getting the sweep in their final home series. The Ducks travel to Seattle Friday to close out the Pac 12 regular season against Washington.
College Softball:
Number 21 Oregon was able to avoid the sweep yesterday by 2 hitting number 7 Stanford in a 1 to nothing shutout. The Ducks run came on double steal of 2nd and home. They open the Pac 12 tournament against Utah on Thursday.
Oregon State came back to beat number 19 Cal 6 to 5 yesterday to avoid the series sweep. The Beavers are seeded eighth in the Pac-12 Tournament, and will meet ninth-seeded Arizona State on Wednesday.
MLB:
The Mariners held off Houston 5 to 4 yesterday. Cal Raleigh hit the go ahead home run in the 9th. The Ms have won 7 of their last 10. One other note, Pitcher George Kirby is having a precautionary MRI to check out a sore knee. Now it’s on to Minnesota to start a four-game series. First pitch against the Twins is at 4:40 today.
The Giants fell to the Phillies 5 to 4 yesterday. Logan Webb took the loss, giving up four runs in four innings. San Francisco now has to try to avoid the four game sweep. The series finishes today in Philadelphia starting at 1:05.
Soccer:
The Portland Timbers lost to Charlotte.
The Portland Thorns beat Washington 2 to 1.
