Beavs, Ducks Up In Baseball Polls

MLB: 

The Mariners took care of business in game 1 of their series with Kansas City. The 6 to 3 final gave George Kirby his 4th win of the season going 7 shutout innings allowing three hits. It was a strong comeback after getting shelled in his last outing. First pitch tonight against the Royals is at 6:40.

San Francisco lost 6 to 4 to the Dodgers in 10 innings last night after giving up a lead in the 7th. The Giants’ top of the order continues to struggle with the first four batters going a combined 1 for 15.  Keaton Winn gets the start tonight. His first pitch from Oracle Park is at 6:45.

College Baseball: 

…is headed into the final week of the regular season…series begin Thursday for the Beavers and Ducks.

Oregon State is ranked 4th in the Perfect Game poll, 6th in the Coaches, Writers, and  D1 baseball dot com poll, number 8 by Baseball America, 

Oregon is ranked 20th by Baseball America, number 23 in D1 Baseball dot com, and 24th in the Coaches poll.

NFL:

We’ll learn tomorrow when the Seahawks and 49ers will play each other this season, and get the rest of their 17 games when the 2024 schedule is released. It will come out at 5 tomorrow afternoon. 

Yesterday, Seattle came to terms on deals with three more of their draft picks. That puts four out of their eight picks under contract including first round selection Byron Murphy. 

College Football: 

Oregon State will get Cal Tight End Andy Alfieri. The Graduate Transfer played at Jesuit High School in Portland.

Oregon got a commitment from Four-star high-school prospect Dierre Hill from Illinois. Hill is the first running back for the Ducks’ 2025 recruiting class.

Local: 

Girls and Boys golf state championships continue today.

Baseball: Mountain View at South Salem in a non-league match up.

Softball:  Bend hosts The Dalles, La Pine at Siuslaw.
