The Giants begin a week-long road trip in Pittsburgh today. San Francisco comes in at 23 and 25 in what looks to be a fair matchup on paper against the 22 and 26 Pirates. Both are 3rd place in their divisions. First pitch is at 3:40.
College Baseball:
Oregon State junior Travis Bazzana has been named one of 25 semifinalists for the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award, given annually to the nation's top amateur baseball player. The second baseman had a .429 batting average and 26 home runs in the regular season.
Junior Jacob Kmatz has been named the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week for his four hit, one earned-run, eight strikeout performance against Arizona Friday night.

OSU will be the two seed in the Pac 12 tournament, playing Stanford tomorrow morning and Arizona on Thursday [at 10 AM] in pool play. Semifinals start Friday.

Number 8 Summit welcomes Number 9 Crater, number 3 Ridgeview hosts 14 seed Corvallis, Number 11 Bend is at the 6, Wilsonville, 7th seeded Mountain View is home against number 10 Ashland; Class 4 A, number 8 Crook County has the 9 North Bend in Prineville.
Softball 5A, 5th seed No. 5 Caldera hosts number 12 Thurston, Number 14 Ridgeview is at the 3 Silverton, Number 2 Bend hosts No. 15 Central.
