MLB:
The Giants let a four-run ninth inning lead slip away and lost 7 to 6 in 10 innings in Pittsburgh yesterday. San Francisco snapped a 4 game win streak. Game 2 of the three-game set with the Pirates is today. First pitch is at 3:40.
The Mariners surprised the Yankees again winning 6 to 3 yesterday. Bryan Woo struck out 7 in six shutout innings giving up only 2 hits. 2B Dylan Moore homered twice with 4 RBI. Game 3 of the 4 game series starts this afternoon at 4:05.
College Baseball:
Oregon State is ranked in the top 10 of all the major polls and has World Series aspirations, but winning the Pac 12 tournament in the last year of its short existence would be a good start to the postseason.
The Beavers are the number two seed playing Stanford this morning and Arizona State tomorrow morning. First pitch is at 10 AM from Scottsdale, Arizona.
Number 20 Oregon is the three seed playing Utah this afternoon at 2:30 and USC tomorrow in the first round pool play. Semi-finals start Friday.
Individual honors were handed out by the Pac 12 yesterday, nine Oregon players were named to the All-Pac-12 Conference team including Freshman Maddox Molony to the first-team.
OSU junior infielder Travis Bazzana is the Pac-12 Player of the Year. He’s the seventh Beaver to receive the honor, which started with Madras’ Jacoby Elsbury in 2005. Three other Beavers join Bazanna on the All Conference first team; 10 total players were recognized.

Softball, Caldera and Bend advanced.
Baseball Class 3A state playoffs, second round, No. 5 Sisters hosts No. 12 South Umpqua, Number 7 La Pine welcomes Number 10 Lakeview, Culver plays Regis in 2A.
