College Baseball: 

Oregon State was upset 2 to 1 by Stanford in the Pac 12 tournament pool stage opener. The Beavers are playing again this morning against Arizona State. They need to beat the Sun Devils and have Arizona win its pool in order to advance to the semi-finals tomorrow. Stanford has now punched their ticket. OSU’s first pitch against ASU is at 10 AM from Scottsdale, Arizona

Oregon lost 4 to 2 to Utah yesterday. The Ducks need to beat USC today to advance. First pitch at 2:30. 

MLB: 

The Mariners lost 7 to 3 to the Yankees yesterday. Seattle scored on a three-run Cal Raleigh homer in the 8th to make the game respectable but otherwise didn’t do much.The 4 game series finishes today with the Ms going for the series win. First pitch is at 9:35 this morning.

The Giants beat Pittsburgh 9 to 5 in 10 innings yesterday. San Francisco was down 5 to nothing and tied the game late scoring a run in both the 8th and 9th innings. The rubber match against the Pirates and rookie pitching phenom Paul Skenes is this morning starting at 9:35.

NFL:

The Seahawks preseason schedule has been released. Seattle will face one of the most talked about teams this offseason. That’s Coach Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers. The game is Saturday August 10th.

College Football: 

Some schedule news: Oregon’s game at home vs. Michigan State and former Beaver head coach Jonathon Smith and a road contest at Purdue have been moved to Friday nights on FOX TV. 

Local:
