College Baseball:

NCAA Tournament.

Oregon was cruising in College Station, Texas until they allowed 9 runs in the seventh inning, giving up a four run lead. Final score was 15 to 9. Number three overall seed Texas A & M moves on to the Men’s College World Series. The Ducks finish the season at 40 and 20 after their second straight Super Regional. They should step in as a contender in the Big 10 conference next season..

Oregon State fell 3 to 2 in Lexington yesterday losing in two straight games and sending the Wildcats to Omaha for the first time. The Beavers' record breaking season falls short of the Nebraska goal and will almost certainly have a tougher time of it next season playing an independent schedule. It is another Super Regional campaign for the Beavs as they finish the season at 45 and 16. Many OSU fans now have legitimate concerns about the transfer period.

MLB: 

San Francisco lost to Texas 7 to 2 yesterday. Mike Yastrzemski had a solo homer. Keaton Winn took the loss giving up all seven runs in 4 and third innings.The Giants took two of three from the Rangers. Now it’s finally back to Oracle Park for a series against the Astros. Houston has been playing better of late but are still six games under .500. First pitch tonight is at 6:45.

Seattle outlasted Kansas City 6 to 5 in 10 innings yesterday. It was the only win of the series for the Ms who held off a Royal rally in the bottom of the 10th. Both Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh had RBI singles in the Top of the 10th. Now The AL West leaders return to the Pacific Northwest to host the White Sox tonight. Chicago is struggling this season sitting in last in the AL Central.  First pitch is at 6:40

Local: 

The Elks couldn’t get the road sweep losing at Springfield 2 to 1 yesterday but their wins Friday and Saturday have them at 4 up  and 5 down on the season and back in Bend tomorrow to play the very same Drifters to start a weeklong home stand.  [ First pitch against the Drifters is at 6:35.]

 

Soccer:

The Portland Timbers played a scoreless draw with St Louis.
