Seattle couldn’t get the sweep of the White Sox last night. This time the Ms were on the losing end in extra innings, going down 3 to 2 in the 10th. Julio Rodriguez’s 6th home run of the season tied the game in the bottom of the 9th. Now the Mariners are 9 games above .500 in first place in the AL West with a big weekend series against second place Texas who trail 6 games back. First pitch tonight is at 7:10.
San Francisco starts a series with the Angels at Oracle Park tonight. The Giants have won their last two series and are 34 and 35, 3rd in the NL West. The Halos come in at 26 and 42 having lost their last two series, and have also suffered critical injuries this season, including to star Mike Trout. First pitch is at 7:15 tonight.
Soccer:
The Portland Thorns play Seattle Reign Sunday afternoon. They’re in 4th place in the NWSL standings winning four of their last five.

The Elks put 9 runs on the board last night, on 14 hits, while holding Springfield to 3 sweeping the Drifters and moving into a tie for 3rd place in the West Coast League South division.
