MLB:
14 to 7 would be a low scoring Patriots Seahawks game but the Mariners were blown out by the Red Sox yesterday, with Logan Gilbert giving up seven of those runs in 2 and two thirds innings and Trent Thorton yielding four runs in 2 innings. Cal Raleigh homered in the losing effort. Also yesterday, the Mariners acquired INF Justin Turner and cash considerations from the Blue Jays in exchange for a minor leaguer. The Ms have game two from Fenway Park today. First pitch is at 4:10.
San Francisco hosts a two-game series with Oakland tonight. At two games under .500 the Giants may still make a deal ahead of the trade deadline at 3 this afternoon. Game 1 against the A’s starts at 6:45 tonight.
NBA:
The Trail Blazers aren’t interested in dealing Jerami Grant to the Lakers for DeAngelo Russell according to a report in the Athletic. Portland wants picks rather than players for Grant has been the story since before the draft, but Los Angeles has continued to try to make a deal work for Grant.
