Bend North LL In NW Semifinal...Elks Swept By Corvallis

The Elks dropped into 4th place in the south division after getting swept in Corvallis over the weekend. Wenatchee is town for a midweek series starting tomorrow. First pitch against the Knights is at 6:35.

At the Portland Classic Redmond amateur Yvonne Vinceri didn’t make the cut, nor did several notable pros get to play into the weekend at the LPGA event at Columbia Edgewater Country Club.

The Bend North Little League team is in the semifinal of the Northwest Regional of the Little League World Series in San Bernardino, California. The Oregon champs beat Anchorage, Alaska 6-2 Saturday. Bend plays Eagle, Idaho on ESPN at 6 pm tonight for a chance to go to the Northwest Final.

College Football: 

Oregon starts week two of practice getting ready to go full pads this week… Hear about the team’s practice on the Oregon Ducks Insider daily podcast at KBND dot com. You’ll also hear about the good news the U of O received from a major recruiting announcement over the weekend. The season kick-off is Saturday the 31st against Idaho.

Oregon State will place a focus on execution on special teams this season as they get ready for the opener Saturday the 31st against Idaho State. Most importantly Corvallis and all of Beaver nation are celebrating gymnast Jade Carey winning a bronze medal in the vault to add to her team gold medal in Paris.

MLB: 

San Francisco was 8 to 2 winners in Cincinnati with LaMont Wade Jr, Tyler Fitzgerald and Matt Chapman all going yard. Michael Conforto also knocked in two.  The road trip continues in Washington today for a series against the Nationals starting at 3:45 this afternoon.

The Mariners couldn’t get the sweep against Philadelphia yesterday falling in a 6 to nothing shutout. Logan Gilbert gave up one earned run in six innings. The Ms do take a one game lead in the division into the off day while they get ready for a visit from theTigers starting tomorrow.  [First pitch is 

NBA:

This week, Portland’s City Council will consider two ordinances to enter into a short-term lease extension that will keep the Portland Trail Blazers playing in Moda Center through the 2030 season, with an option to extend through the 2035 season.
