College Football:
Oregon State quarterbacks Gabarri Johnson and Gevanni McCoy both had time with the media yesterday. The transfers, both in their first seasons in Corvallis are among the three players looking to be QB1. Each complimented the other’s play, so far in camp. Offensive coordinator Ryan Gunderson recently said he’s looking for one of those two or senior Ben Gulbranson to emerge from the pack. The Beavers’ opener is Saturday the 31st against Idaho State.
Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel was put on another preseason watch list. The Johnny Unitas 2024 Golden Arm Award will go to the country’s top senior quarterback. The transfer has been named to three other watchlists including the Walter Camp player of the year…and while it is not an official watchlist, Gabriel is the betting favorite right now, to win the Heisman Trophy.
