Oregon kicker Atticus Sappington was named the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week. He went 2-for-2 on field goals from 25 and 39 yards and 5-for-5 on extra points. The junior from Portland kicked off eight times with five touchbacks. Sappington is pretty comfortable kicking at Reser because he transferred from OSU this season. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel threw his 131st touchdown pass on Saturday, tying him for fifth-most in FBS history. He’s 24 TDs away throws away from Case Keenum’s mark of 155. Oregon State head coach Trent Bray said it was a great challenge for his team to face a team like Oregon and the team would have to correct mistakes that are their own fault. He said Purdue would probably bring the same type of physicality when they come visiting Saturday. Bray says the Pac 12 adding four schools to the conference will help with recruiting.
