Beavs Look To Snap 2-Game L Streak...No. 1 Ducks Prep For No. 20 Illini

Oregon State Head Coach Trent Bray is glad the team played to win to the very end Saturday night. During the coach’s media availability yesterday he said he expects the team will work to fix the issues they’ve had over two straight losses. Bray points to unforced mistakes as one of the driving factors in Cal’s four-game losing streak. There was also no update on the health status of starting running back Jam Griffin who has been out the last two games. The 4 - 3 Beavers travel to Berkeley Saturday.

Number 1 Oregon is back at Autzen Saturday for another Top 25 matchup. Number 20 Illinois comes to Eugene at 6 - 1 overall, 3 - 1 in the Big 10. It will be the third top 25 game this season for the Ducks. This is the two schools’ first meeting since 1995. The undefeated Ducks will look to get to 8 - 0 for the first time since 2013. Hear about game week preparations on the Oregon Ducks Insider daily podcast at KBND dot com.

NFL:

San Francisco will be without receiver Deebo Samuel for an unknown length as he recovers from a pneumonia-like illness. Receiver Brandon Aiyuk will miss the rest of the season with an ACL tear. Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters yesterday he would be surprised if running back Christian McCaffrey plays Sunday against Dallas.

Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf has a minor knee sprain according to coach Mike Macdonald. The receiver was carted off Sunday during the win over Atlanta. Metcalf will try to practice this week to get ready for Buffalo coming to Seattle Sunday, but there’s no guaranteeing he’ll be in the line-up.

NBA:

The Trail Blazers begin another season expected by most experts to once again compete for the number one overall draft pick. A win total in the low 20s is predicted. The Blazers’ season tips off tomorrow night in Portland against Golden State.
