College Football:

Oregon is the unanimous number one in both the Associated Press Top 25 and the Coaches polls. The 9 - 0 Ducks took care of Michigan Saturday but receiver Tez Johnson went out with an apparent shoulder injury. No official word yet on the nature, severity, or his playing status, but Johnson did go to social media yesterday to post and then later delete a broken heart emoji along with the picture of him being injured. We may hear more this afternoon when head coach Dan Lanning addresses the media. Coaches and players talk about game week preparations for the Maryland Terrapins on the Oregon Ducks Insider daily podcast. 

Oregon State is off the bye week, and looking to snap a three game losing streak. There could be a new quarterback starting against San Jose State this Saturday. Head coach Trent Bray left the question open last week after three quarterbacks saw action in the loss to Cal.

Washington State was also idle this week but moved up to two spots to number 20 in both the AP and Coaches poll. 

Washington took down USC Saturday in an upset that gets the Huskies to 5-4 overall, 8th place in the Big 10.

NBA:

The Trail Blazers are coming off back to back losses to the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Phoenix Suns. The young team was competitive at times in both games, though. At 2 - 5 Portland continues the road trip in New Orleans tonight. Tip off is at 6:30.

NFL: Week 9

The Seahawks fell to 4 and 5 after the 26-20 overtime loss to the Rams. Geno Smith threw three touchdowns but also gave up three costly interceptions. Seattle heads into the bye week now in last place in the very tight NFC West. Los Angeles goes to 4 - 4, just ahead of San Francisco for 2nd place and right behind the first place Arizona Cardinals.

Local:

Volleyball playoffs over the weekend. In 1A, Redmond’s Central Christian moves on to the State quarter finals. So does Crook County in 4A and for 5A, Bend and Caldera advance to play, beginning this Friday.
