College Football:
Oregon State Head coach Trent Bray is opening up the starting quarterback job for this Saturday. Incumbent Gevani McCoy, senior Ben Gulbranson, and redshirt freshman Gabarri Johnson will all be competing this week in practice, just like they did in the preseason for the chance to lead the offense against San Jose State. Coach Bray said he’ll decide on QB1 after Thursday’s practice but did not say if he would make an announcement.
Oregon receiver Tez Johnson will not miss the rest of the season. The star senior injured his shoulder and didn’t finish Saturday’s contest with Michigan. Head Coach Dan Lanning said at last night’s press conference he expected Johnson to return to the line-up soon, but didn’t get more specific on a time-line. Coaches and players talk about game week preparations for the Maryland Terrapins on the Oregon Ducks Insider daily podcast.
