Beavs FB Drop 4th Straight...10 - 0 Ducks Stay No. 1

 

College Football:

Oregon State is now on a four-game losing streak after a tough 24 - 13 loss at home to San Jose State, that saw both head coaches irate during, and after the game over various officiating calls. The Beavers drop to 4 - 5.  

Oregon easily took care of Maryland Saturday and kept up their lock on the top spot in the Associated Press and Coaches Top 25 polls. The number one Ducks are also tied for first place in the Big 10 along with number 6 Indiana. There’s two games left in the regular season with the Ducks on the road at Wisconsin this Saturday. Washington State moved up to number 18 in the Coaches poll and 19 in the AP after a convincing 49 - 28 home win over Utah State. The Cougars are now 8 - 1. 

Washington is 5 - 5 after falling to number 5 Penn State.

NBA:

The Trail Blazers returned to the Moda Center last night after a long road trip only to be blown out of the gym by Memphis 134 - 89. Jerami Grant led the team with 20 points. The telling stat in the loss was going 4 for 41 from beyond the arc. That’s a 9.8% clip for three-point shooting. Overall field goal percentage was under 35%. Next up for Portland is an extended visit from the Timberwolves starting tomorrow. 

NFL: Week 10

San Francisco Running Back Christian McCaffery finally got on the field and helped the team to their 5th win yesterday, topping the Buccaneers 23-20 thanks to a late field goal. Brock Purdy threw for 353 yards with two touchdowns. The 49ers remain in 2nd place right behind Arizona in the NFC West.

College Hoops: 

The Oregon women upset number 12 Baylor last night to move to 3 - 0. 

Soccer: 

The Portland Thorns lost to Gotham FC 2 - 1 yesterday getting knocked out of the NWSL Playoffs.

Local:

OSAA State Volleyball championships Bend took 5th in 5A, and Crook County is 3rd place in 4A. 

Cross Country Championships in 5A Summit girls are 2nd, Caldera girls took 3rd. On the boys side Summit is 2nd and Caldera 5th. Crook County is 3rd in 4A.
