College Football:
Oregon State still may not have quarterback Ben Gulbranson back. Head coach Trent Bray said the senior needs to get medically cleared for the injury he suffered during the San Jose State game. Gulbranson didn’t travel for the Air Force game. The 4 - 6 Beavers will go with either redshirt freshman Jabarri Johnson or back to senior transfer Gevani McCoy, who has started for much of the season, but coach Bray wouldn’t say who would be starting against Washington State Saturday.
Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel is a finalist for the 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. Ducks kicker Atticus Sappington was named the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week. Outside linebacker Matayo Uiagalelei is the conference's Co-Defensive Player of the Week. The 11 - 0 Ducks will likely be ranked number 1 again after the release of today’s playoff rankings. Coaches and players talk about this bye week on the Oregon Ducks Insider daily podcast.
NBA:
The Trail Blazers may not have guard Anfernee Simons or center Deandre Ayton on their upcoming road trip. Both players were injured a week ago and Portland coach Chauncey Billups told the media after practice Monday he wasn’t sure if either of them would be ready for any of the upcoming five games. The Blazers travel today to take on the Thunder tomorrow in Oklahoma City.
NFL: Week 12
San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan says quarterback Brock Purdy will be day to day with soreness in his throwing shoulder. The 49ers will keep an eye on Purdy, edge rusher Nick Bosa, who couldn’t finish Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks, and tight end George Kittle who was a late scratch Saturday…among several other players who will wind up on the injury report this week.
College Basketball:
The Oregon Women moved up to number 23 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll yesterday. Last night the Ducks beat Grand Canyon University 70 - 54 to get to 5 - 0 on the season.
