College Football:
Oregon should stay number 1 in the College Football Rankings when they’re released later today. Head Coach Dan Lanning spoke on the need to stay consistent as one of the biggest challenges in remaining undefeated. He told media members yesterday was a good first practice and the team is focusing on this Saturday and not beyond to the conference championship game and the playoffs. Oregon State’s game against Boise State will probably have both Ben Gulbranson and Gebarri Johnson trade-off on snaps again on Friday. Coach Trent Bray told the media they’re preparing to try to slow down Heisman trophy candidate Ashton Jeanty but admitted he is a unique talent.
NBA:
The Trail Blazers were on the wrong end of a blowout in Memphis. Portland shot just 33 percent from the field on the way to the 25 point loss. Deni Avdija, the offseason acquisition who has been a real bright spot, had a nice 17 point, 8 rebound, 6 assist line that led in all those categories. The Blazers road trip ends against Indiana tomorrow.
Thanksgiving week College Hoops:
The Number 21 Ducks are now 6-1 after losing 74-58 to Georgia Tech in their Hawaii tournament yesterday. The Oregon women are back at it today against South Dakota State at 4.
The Oregon State women lost 71 - 52 to number 2 UConn in the Bahamas yesterday. Next up they take on Boston College in a consolation game
The Oregon State men went down to the wire but lost 58 - 55 to the North Texas Mean Green yesterday.
The Ducks’ Men play 20th ranked Texas A&M today at 1:30 from a tournament in Las Vegas
