UO's Gabriel Heisman Finalist...Ducks' LB Boetcher Earns Burlsworth...McCoy Leaving OSU...

College Football:

Big 10 Champion Oregon will have several players up for post-season awards including quarterback Dillon Gabriel who has been invited to New York City for the Heisman Trophy presentation Saturday. Gabriel has been a contender all season with oddsmakers keeping the transfer senior among the favorites. Ahead of the weekend’s ceremony Gabriel will be in Las Vegas tonight as a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, the nation's most prestigious scholar-athlete award. One player has already received an honor. Yesterday, linebacker Bryce Boettcher was named the winner of the 2024 Burlsworth Trophy, presented to the nation's most outstanding player who began his career as a walk-on. The Eugene native led the Ducks in tackles this season while earning second-team all conference honors. Hear more from coaches and players on the Oregon Ducks Insider daily podcast.

Meanwhile in Corvallis quarterback Gevani McCoy will be leaving Oregon State through the transfer portal. He was a Beaver for one season after coming from Idaho last year. McCoy started for much of the 2024 campaign but lost the job near the end.

College Hoops:

The Oregon Men stayed number 12 in the Associated Press Top 25 despite Sunday’s last-second loss giving them their only blemish on their 9 -1 record. UCLA did enter the rankings at number 24 yesterday after pulling out the win at Matthew Knight Arena.

NFL: Week 15

The 49ers are hoping today’s practice shows how the foot of running back Isaac Guerendo feels after the rookie starter sprained it during the win over the Bears. Head Coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters yesterday he hoped Guerendo would be ready for the big divisional showdown with the Rams Thursday night.

The Seahawks may be without running back Kenneth Walker III for another game after he was a scratch against Arizona, Head coach Mike Macdonald said during his media availability yesterday the team would see how practice goes this week for their leading rusher. Walker is just one of many players that will be landing on the injury report in Seattle. They’re going to need all hands on deck against Green Bay Sunday night.
