NBA:
Portland held off the Jazz last night to start the long road trip with a win. The game was a little closer than the Blazers expected at the end after the team thought they had put Utah away. They escape with a 114 - 112 final. Anfernee Simons led the way with 28 points. Deni Avdija had 18 points with 14 rebounds. Next the Trailblazers move on to DC to take on the Wizards tomorrow.
College Baseball:
The Oregon Ducks remain number 11 in D1 Baseball dot com. They’re 19th in Baseball America and the Coaches and Perfect game have them 15th. The Writers slotted them at 12. Ducks catcher Burke-Lee Mabeus has been named the Big Ten Conference Co-Freshman of the Week.
Oregon State fell to 8th in the Writers, 9th D1, 10th in the Coaches Poll after the Beavers finished their trip to the Round Rock classic with two losses.
Softball: Oregon Rylee McCoy became the third different Duck in as many weeks to be named Big Ten Freshman of the Week. Lyndsey Grein is the Big 10 Pitcher of the Week.
College Basketball:
The Oregon Men got some votes in this week’s Associated Press and Coaches poll rankings. Center Nate Bittle was announced as the Big Ten Conference Player of the Week. The Ducks are in 7th place in the Big 10 with USC visiting Saturday.
