NBA:
The Portland Trail Blazers have reportedly re-acquired veteran guard Jrue Holiday in a trade with the Boston Celtics, sending Anfernee Simons and two future second-round picks to Boston. Simons averaged 15 points per game and some splashy highlights in his 7 years in Rip City. Holiday was originally acquired by Portland in the Damian Lillard trade back in 2023, before shipping up to Boston. Portland holds the 11th pick in tomorrow’s 1st round of the NBA Draft.
MLB:
It was a record-breaking week for Cal Raleigh – and now he’s officially the AL Player of the Week! Yesterday on the diamond, Big Dumper hit his MLB-leading 32nd homer as Seattle dominated the Twins, winning 11-2! Raleigh’s jack was one of four M's blasts on the day. Julio Rodríguez and Luke Raley also went deep in a six-run third inning, backing a strong nine-strikeout performance from starter Bryan Woo.
The Mariners will be back in action today in Minnesota starting at 4:40.
The Giants, holding a 44-34 record and sitting 2nd in the NL West, begin a three-game series against the Miami Marlins tonight at Oracle Park.
Rafael Devers, acquired earlier this month, has primarily served as designated hitter due to a minor groin injury. He is batting around .200 with 1 home run and 3 RBIs in his first few games as a Giant. Justin Verlander, is scheduled to start in his second game after coming back from injury. First pitch at 6:45.
COLLEGE ATHLETICS:
The University of Oregon has extended the contract of athletic director Rob Mullens through the 2032-33 academic year. The extension was approved by the Board of Trustees on Monday, June 23rd. Reports have the new contract worth $1.15 million per year plus bonuses making him the 8th highest paid AD in the Big 10. The contract extension is funded entirely through athletics revenues and donor support.

The Bend Elks are on the road in Salem to take on a new team in the West Coast league, A fantastic name for a minor league baseball… the Marion Berries. First pitch at 6:30 against the Berries, playing in Salem, in Marion County, of course.
