Oregon FB Lands ATH Lott

SPORTS 7-9-25

MLB:

The Mariners lost to the Yankees 10-3 last night at Yankee Stadium, but Cal Raleigh hit a two-run home run, his 36th of the season. The two-run blast moved the Big Dumper ahead of Ken Griffey Jr for the franchise record for most homers before the All-Star break. Raleigh's 36 home runs also lead all of Major League Baseball, two ahead of Aaron Judge…who the New York Post called the other slugger in the series’ matchup.

Seattle continues the series in New York starting at 4:05 our time.

The Giants pulled out a 4-3 comeback victory over the Phillies last night at Oracle Park. The winning run came in the bottom of the ninth on a walk-off, three-run inside-the-park home run by Patrick Bailey. That gets the 50th win of the season against 42 losses, staying 2nd in the NL West. San Francisco continues their series against Philadelphia tonight with a 6:45 start time.

OREGON FOOTBALL:

The Oregon football team added to its 2026 recruiting class. Four-star athlete Jalen Lott committed to the Ducks. The Frisco, Texas native chose Oregon over offers from Texas and USC, among others.

MLS:

The Timbers have an away game this weekend. Portland will battle St. Louis CITY SC on Sunday. The Timbers beat St. Louis 2-1 at home last month.

LOCAL:

The Elks beat the Marion Berries 15 - 9 last night at Vince Genna stadium. The Elks run barrage also included an inside the park home run.

The Crooked River Round Up Horse Races starts tonight in Prineville.

First post is at 7:15 at the Crook County Fairgrounds.
