OSU WBB Adds Alonso-Basurto

MLB:

Yesterday, Seattle dropped another one going down 9-6 at Yankee Stadium. J.P. Crawford and Jorge Polanco both hit solo home runs, and Randy Arozarena had a two-run jack for the M. Logan Evans took the loss.

The Mariners are 48 and 44, second in the AL West, 6.5 games back. They finish their series against the Yankees today, first pitch at 4:05. 

 

The Giants were blown out of Oracle Park yesterday by the Phillies 13-0. The Giants now stand at 51 wins and 43 losses, holding second in the NL West, five games behind the Dodgers. Next up, the Giants can make up some ground against Los Angeles starting tomorrow.

 

NBA:

The Trail Blazers are likely to have a tough time in the NBA Cup this year. The Association announced it’s group match-ups for the in-season tournament. The teams joining Portland in that group include the Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, and San Antonio Spurs. All of them are likely playoff contenders. Group stage play begins October 31st.

 

OSU WBB

The Oregon State women's basketball team completed its roster. The Beavers announced the signing of Spanish forward Lara Alonso-Basurto, giving them 15 players for the upcoming season. Alonso-Basurto played for CB Alcobendas and Distrito Olímpico in Spain last season. In other news, the team will play in the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands this season.

 

LOCAL:

The Elks jumped out to an early lead again last night and piled on the runs winning 11- 2 over the Marion Berries last night at Vince Genna stadium.

 

The Crooked River Round Up Horse Races continue tonight in Prineville.
