Draft day 2 yesterday,

Five Oregon Ducks have now been drafted: Anson Aroz, Jacob Walsh, Jason Reitz, Grayson Grinsell, and Mason Neville.

 

Meanwhile, Oregon State had five more Beavers get their names called: Canon Reeder, Wilson Weber, Kellan Oakes,Nelson Keljo, Gavin Turley, 

 

Also, Summit High School pitcher Slater de Brun was picked by the Baltimore Orioles as the 37th overall pick.

 

Cal Raleigh won the Home Run Derby last night with 54 blasts across the 3 rounds, becoming the second Mariner along with Ken Griffey Jr to win the event.

 

NBA: 

Portland is 1 - 1 in Summer League. Rookie center Yang Hansen, now being called the “Chinese Jokic,” for his comparison to Denver Center Nikola Jokic is building fan excitement with his impressive skills and versatile playmaking, tallying a double-double in both games this past weekend. Tonight, the Trail Blazers tip off against the New Orleans Pelicans at 7 from Las Vegas. 

 

MLS Recap

The Sounders and Timbers both have midweek home games. Seattle will take on the Rapids, while the Timbers battle Real Salt Lake. The Sounders played Colorado to a 1-1 draw on the road in April. The Timbers and RSL played to a scoreless tie in Utah in May.

 

LOCAL:

It's the West Coast League All Star break. The Elks play a couple of exhibition games at Vince Genna tonight and Thursday wrapped around tomorrow’s All-Star game, where four Elks will participate. They play the Northwest All Stars tonight starting at 6:35.

 

American Legion Baseball regular season finishes this week. 2nd place Redmond is fighting for a playoff spot
