COLLEGE FOOTBALL:

Oregon State offensive coordinator Ryan Gunderson says the squad is further along with the system than he expected. Coach Gundy is excited about the potential for big plays from running backs and receivers.

Also yesterday, Beavers Long Snapper Dylan Black was named to the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List for the community service award.

MLB:

The Mariners blanked the Rangers 6 - 0 last night to get a game lead in the last wild card spot over Texas. The Big Dumper blasted his 42nd homer. Cal Raleigh now has the most single-season home runs by a switch-hitting catcher in MLB history. Game 2 of the four game series is tonight at 7:10 in Seattle.

 

San Francisco traded outfielder Mike Yastrzemski to Kansas City at yesterday’s deadline. Today the Giants are in Queens, New York to try to snap their six game losing streak. First pitch against the Mets is 4:10

 

Soccer:

The Portland Timbers play Querétaro tomorrow night in match 2 of the group stage of the MLS vs MX LIGA League’s Cup tomorrow night at 8.

The Portland Thorns play Washington Saturday.
