Number 5 Oregon is starting the Big 10 season on the road in Evanston, Illinois Saturday. The Ducks are getting a lot more notice in the national press this week after last Saturday’s result against Oklahoma State. The 69 points landed the Ducks in the top 10 of several all-time school records.

This Saturday’s coverage at Northwestern starts at 7 AM on KBND.

Oregon State is on the road at number 21 Texas Tech Saturday. There is much talk on social media and sports radio about the hot seat for Beavers head coach Trent Bray and various members of his coaching staff with the 0 - 2 start after OSU was favored to win both contests. The consensus as of today is Bray wouldn’t be fired if they lost to the 2 - 0 Red Raiders who are favored at home but some assistant coaches could have their last stop in Lubbock if an improvement isn’t obvious.

And a calendar note: Oregon State’s game at Oregon next Saturday the 20th has been scheduled for a 12:30 kickoff.

MLB:

The Giants blasted the Diamondbacks 11 - 5 hitting 5 home runs giving Logan Webb his 14th win. San Francisco is three games out of the last wild card. First pitch against Arizona tonight is 6:45

Seattle pitcher Brian Woo won his 13th game striking out 9, and allowing 3 hits, but was trailing 2- 0 to St Louis after the 3rd out in the top of the 6th. The Mariners bats came through for him in the bottom of the 6th with 4 runs courtesy of RBI from Julio Rodriguez, Josh Naylor, and Jorge Polanco. The Ms stay 1.5 ahead of Texas for the wild card and pick up a half game on the Astros in the division race. First pitch against the Cardinals tonight is 6:40.

Local:

Mt. Bachelor is set to open for winter operations on November 28 off the Pine Marten, Little Pine, and Skyliner lifts, weather permitting. The Northwest lift is receiving a major modernization starting April next year. Freestyle skiers and riders can also expect new terrain park layouts this season.
