NBA Gambling Charges

SPORTS 10-23

NBA:

Portland Trailblazers coach Chauncey Billups and Miami Heat player Terry Rozier have been separately arrested related to federal investigations into gambling.  Multiple reports say Billups was charged in an illegal poker operation connected with the mafia.   Rozier and former coach and player Damon Jones were also charged in a different illegal gambling case.  Those two are among six people accused of using inside information to make wagers on games.

The Trailblazers led for 3 and a half quarters but went cold in the final minutes losing 118 - 114 to Minnesota on opening night. Jerami Grant, off the bench, led the team in scoring with 29 points. Portland was outscored 30 - 19 in the final quarter. The Golden State Warriors visit the Moda Center Friday night.
