NBA:
The Trailblazers couldn’t complete the comeback in the 4th quarter and lost at the buzzer 115 – 112 in Orlando last night. Shaedon Sharpe scored 31 in the effort. The loss drops Portland to 5 – 5. The road trip continues in New Orleans tomorrow afternoon.
CFB:
Oregon State head coach Robb Akey says the team is putting the loss to Sam Houston State behind them.
OSU goes to Tulsa Saturday.
7th ranked Oregon got out of Iowa with a win thanks to the foot of Atticus Sappington. Yesterday the redshirt senior was named the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week. Sappington was a career-high three for three including a season-long 46 yards, and the 39-yard game winner, accounting for 10 of the Ducks 18 points.
Head coach Dan Lanning wouldn’t give an update during his media session yesterday on players returning against Minnesota Friday but complimented the guys who were able to go, and said those injured are working to get back on the field, even with a shorter week of practice.
The new college football playoff rankings will be released later today.

CBB:
The Oregon State women took down Air Force last night. They go to 2 – 0 on the season and will get a test against Illinois on Friday in Corvallis.
The Oregon women look to keep its strong start going as the Ducks host Grand Canyon at Matthew Knight Arena at 6 tonight.
The Ducks look to get to 3-0 for the 11th consecutive season.
The OSU men’s team has the West Coast Conference Player of the Week. Guard Josiah Lake II earned the honor after getting a career high 22 points in the Beavers win last Friday. North Texas visits Gill Coliseum tomorrow night.
