Trail Blazers Take Down Mavericks

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers held on for a home win.  Portland beat the Dallas Mavericks 125-122 for its second straight win.  Deni Avdija posted a triple-double of 27 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, while Shaedon Sharpe and Caleb Love added 24 points each.  The Blazers will return to the court Wednesday for a road matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

 

>>Seahawks To Face 49ers

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Seahawks will play for the top seed in the NFC.  Seattle will play the 49ers on the road on Saturday night with the NFC West title and a first round bye on the line.  The Seahawks lost 17-13 to San Francisco in week one at home.  Sam Darnold threw for 150 yards in that game with 124 going to Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

 

>>Oregon To Play Texas Tech In CFP

(Miami Gardens, FL)  --  The Oregon football team continues its postseason run this week.  The fifth-seeded Ducks will face number four seed Texas Tech in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals on New Year's Day in the Orange Bowl.  Oregon beat James Madison 51-34 in the first round at home.

 

>>Two Beavers To Enter Portal

(Corvallis, OR)  --  The Oregon State football team is losing two more players to the portal.  Offensive lineman Zander Esty and linebacker Dexter Foster announced that they will transfer from the program.  Esty played in all 12 games this season, while Foster had 52 total tackles in seven games before getting hurt.

 

>>UW G Yates III Out Indefinitely

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Washington men's basketball team will be without a key member of the rotation for the foreseeable future.  Guard Wesley Yates The Third is out indefinitely after undergoing wrist surgery.  Yates was averaged 14.9 points and three-point-nine rebounds in 11 games this season before getting injured during the team's win over Seattle U on December 19.

 

>>Men's College Basketball Round Up

(Seattle, WA)  --  The men's college basketball season continued yesterday. Washington beat Utah 74-65 at home.  Zoom Diallo paced the Huskies with 24 points.  The action continues today, as number seven Gonzaga is on the road to play San Diego, Oregon State will host San Francisco, Washington State will battle Seattle U on the road and Portland will take on Santa Clara at home.

 

>>Women's College Basketball Round Up

(Undated)  --  The women's college basketball season continued yesterday.  Oregon lost to number eight Michigan 92-87 in double overtime.  Katie Fiso led the Ducks with 24 points.  Washington beat Northwestern 94-73 at home.  Avery Howell and Elle Ladine scored 23 points each for the Huskies.  The action will continue today, as Oregon State is at St. Mary's, Portland will play San Francisco on the road, Washington State will host Loyola Marymount and Gonzaga will take on Pepperdine at home.
