#5 Oregon Clashes With #1 Indiana In CFP Semis

NBA:

The Trail Blazers have won four straight moving to 18 – 20 on the season.  They’re at the Moda Center taking on the Rockets again tonight. Houston will be looking for revenge in the rematch that saw them lose to the Blazers by fractions of a second.

Tip off is at 7. The Knicks visit Sunday.

 

CFB:

Oregon’s defense faces a tough test against Indiana’s Heisman-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza at today’s playoff semi-final, aka the Peach Bowl in Atlanta.

The Ducks are looking to avenge their regular season loss and hope for a big performance from Georgia native Noah Whittington, who returns home as Oregon’s running back depth is tested by injury.

Oregon State has named Lance Guidry it’s defensive coordinator and safeties coach. Guidry was most recently at LSU and Miami. Lee Marks is the Associate Head Coach/Running Backs Coach. Marks was previously at Memphis and Washington.

Both have worked in prior stints with Beavers Head Coach JaMarcus Shephard.

College baseball:

The Oregon State baseball team is ranked 7th by media publication, Perfect Game.

The Beavers, who finished the 2025 season 48-16-1 with a trip to the College Baseball World Series, were ranked 6th in Perfect Game’s final poll last season.

Oregon comes in at 13 in the Perfect Game rankings. The Ducks finished in a Super Regional last season.

 

LOCAL:

High School Basketball Polls this week have three Central Oregon teams in 5A Girls  - Redmond is number 4, Crook County is ranked 6th, and Summit is in the 9th spot. Sisters is 10th in 3A.

On the Boys side - Crook County is 3rd, Summit is 4th and Ridgeview ranks 10th in 5A. Madras is 3rd in 4A, while Bend’s Trinity Lutheran is 3rd in 2A.

Several teams play in non-conference games tonight.
